Applies to UAV systems older than 5 years or running legacy flight control firmware (e.g. early ArduCopter / discontinued platforms).
1. Age & Obsolescence Risk
The client acknowledges that the aircraft presented for service is an older platform (approximately ___ years old) and may contain:
• Obsolete flight controller hardware
• Discontinued ESCs, motors or GPS modules
• Aged LiPo batteries
• Legacy firmware no longer actively supported
Due to component aging and discontinued parts availability, reliability cannot be guaranteed to modern operational standards.
2. Hidden Component Degradation
Electronic components may have degraded due to:
• Heat cycling
• Moisture exposure
• Storage conditions
• Vibration fatigue
• Capacitor aging
• IMU sensor drift
Such degradation may not be immediately detectable during bench testing.
Eden Drone Repairs cannot guarantee long-term reliability of legacy electronics after calibration or repair.
3. Firmware & Software Limitations
Older ArduCopter / APM / early Pixhawk systems may:
• Lack modern failsafe logic
• Have outdated GPS handling
• Exhibit compass instability
• Be incompatible with current ground station software
Firmware updates on legacy boards carry inherent risk of corruption or incompatibility.
The client accepts these risks if firmware reflash or upgrade is performed.
4. Flight Risk Acknowledgement
Even after calibration and repair, the client acknowledges:
• Older UAVs have a higher probability of in-flight failure
• Security or operational use is undertaken at the owner’s own risk
• No guarantee is provided against crash, fly-away, GPS loss or component failure
All flight testing performed by Eden Drone Repairs is limited, controlled and non-operational in nature.
5. Battery Disclaimer
Lithium Polymer batteries older than 3 years carry increased risk of:
• Voltage sag
• Reduced capacity
• Internal resistance rise
• Sudden failure
Battery performance and flight time are not guaranteed unless new batteries are supplied.
6. No Performance Guarantee
Service provided on legacy platforms is limited to:
• Calibration
• Fault diagnosis
• Component replacement (if available)
• Basic airworthiness verification
No guarantee is made regarding:
• Commercial suitability
• Security-grade reliability
• Long-term operational stability
7. Recommendation Clause
If inspection reveals that the platform is no longer economically viable or safe to operate, Eden Drone Repairs reserves the right to recommend:
• Full flight controller upgrade
• GPS replacement
• ESC replacement
• Complete system rebuild
• Or retirement of the platform
Client Acceptance
I acknowledge that:
• My UAV is an older platform
• I understand the inherent risks
• I accept that no reliability guarantee can be provided
• I assume full responsibility for operational use after repair
