We specialise in large-scale RC aircraft — planes with a wingspan over 1.5m, the size where hobby-grade gives way to serious, high-value builds. If it’s too big to be an ordinary trainer, it’s exactly what we work on.
Large-scale (sometimes called “giant scale”) RC planes are the aircraft serious hobbyists invest real money and time in — typically 1.5m to 2.4m+ wingspan, often quarter-scale or larger. These are not disposable park flyers. When something goes wrong, or you want to build one properly, you want someone who understands the airframe, not just someone with a glue gun.
That’s our niche. We don’t do everything RC — we do this.
What we do:
1. Manufacture & supply of short kits (wood parts only) We laser-cut and CNC-route short kits for large-scale RC aircraft — the wood airframe parts only: ribs, formers, spars, sheeting, firewalls, and structural components. No hardware, no covering material, no engine, no linkages. Just precision-cut wood parts, true to plan, ready to build. If you’re scratch-building or completing a kit that’s missing parts, this is where we come in.
2. Repairs on large-scale RC planes Crash damage, structural failure, warped wings, cracked firewalls, broken ailerons — we repair large-scale airframes properly, not with a patch job. Given the value of these aircraft, a proper structural repair is almost always worth it over writing the plane off.
3. Assembly & build service for off-the-shelf balsa kits Bought a large-scale balsa kit but don’t have the time, workshop space, or building experience to do it justice? We build off-the-shelf kits for customers from box to airframe — straight, true, and ready for covering and equipment.
4. Electronics installation Servo installation, ESC and motor mounting, radio system setup, wiring runs, and control surface linkages for large-scale aircraft. Whether it’s a new build or retrofitting a repaired airframe, we handle the electronics so the mechanical work translates into a plane that actually flies straight.
Why this, and why us:
With 40+ years of mechanical engineering experience across marine, industrial, and manufacturing environments, we don’t just run a laser or a CNC router — we understand structural loading, tolerances, and how a part actually needs to behave in the air, not just on paper. That’s the difference between a kit that looks right and one that flies right.
Large-Scale RC Aircraft Inquiry Form
A note on scope:
Short kits are wood parts only — no hardware (no wheels, hinges, control horns, fuel tanks, undercarriage, etc.), no covering material, and no hinges or fasteners. If you need those too, say so in the notes and we can discuss sourcing separately.
A note on repairs:
Send photos of the damage with your inquiry where possible — it lets us quote more accurately and tell you upfront whether a repair is structurally sound versus something we’d advise against.
Turnaround:
Quotes are typically sent within 1 business day of submission. Build, repair, and cutting turnaround depends on scope and queue, and will be confirmed with your quote.
