The J3 Cub is one of the most-built scale aircraft in RC — a classic trainer look, forgiving flight characteristics, and a design that’s stood the test of decades. We cut it in two sizes to suit different builders.
106″ — Flagship Build
Our detailed, quarter-scale J3 Cub short kit. This is the serious build — the size most recognised in the giant-scale RC world, matched to 35–50cc gas power.

A smaller, faster-to-build version of the same aircraft. Solid balsa tail fins simplify construction significantly — ideal if you want to fly sooner, or if this is your first scale build.

- Construction: simplified — solid balsa tail sections, shorter build time than the 106″
- Build time: quick build — fewer parts, less bench time

What’s Included
Both kits are wood parts only — precision laser-cut and CNC-routed to plan:
- Fuselage formers and doublers
- Wing ribs and spars
- Tail surfaces (fins, stabilizer, elevator, rudder structure)
- Firewall
Not included: hardware (wheels, hinges, control horns, fuel tank, undercarriage), covering material, engine, linkages, fasteners. If you need help sourcing these, mention it in your inquiry and we can discuss options.

Materials
All material sourced within South Africa. Balsa and plywood grade matched to what the design calls for — parts up to 3mm cut on our laser, thicker structural parts (4mm+) on CNC.
