Reverse Engineering & Precision Fabrication for Obsolete Drones and Legacy RC Helicopters
Ground-locked because a critical part is discontinued or out of stock?
We reverse-engineer, 3D print, laser-cut, and CNC-mill hard-to-find structural hardware for legacy RC helicopters, vintage UAVs, and discontinued multi-rotors. Send us a vector file, a technical drawing, or ship us your broken original part.
Don’t Let a Discontinued Part Retire Your Aircraft
As RC aircraft age, manufacturers stop production, hobby shops sell out, and crash spares vanish from the market. Whether you are flying a classic flybar RC helicopter, a discontinued commercial survey platform, or a legacy multi-rotor, finding replacement frame plates or custom mounts can feel impossible.
At Eden Drone Repairs, we bridge the gap between legacy hardware and modern manufacturing. Utilizing precision CNC routing, high-flow engineering 3D printing, and laser fabrication in our Western Cape lab, we accurately reproduce obsolete structural parts to get your aircraft safely back in the air.
How to Get Started: Two Simple Intake Methods
Method 1: Provide a Digital File or Drawing
- Vector Files: Files in
.DXF,.SVG, or.AIformats are ready for immediate machining and incur minimal design setup fees. - Scans & Hand Drawings: Scaled PDFs, clear photographs next to a reference ruler, or hand-drawn sketches with measurements are welcome. We will draw them into cuttable CAD geometry.
- Online Forum Templates: If you found a plan or template on an RC forum, send us the file or link.
Method 2: Send Us Your Broken Physical Sample
- Courier Your Parts: Pack up your broken, snapped, or cracked original part (including missing pieces if available) and ship it to our workshop.
- Digital Reconstruction: We digitize the part using optical inspection and digital calipers to reconstruct the exact original geometry.
- Kerf & Tolerance Compensation: We adjust slot fits, tab tolerances, and material offsets so the final replacement drops straight into your aircraft frame.
Parts We Can Manufacture In-House
We specialize in reproducing flat structural hardware, rigid mounts, custom trays, and aerodynamic or shock-absorbing components.
🚁 RC Helicopter Components
- Main Frame Side Plates & Stiffeners: Precision CNC-routed from high-rigidity 3K carbon fiber or G10 fiberglass (1.0 mm to 2.5 mm).
- Vertical & Horizontal Tail Fins: Custom-milled carbon fins for legacy tail assemblies.
- Battery Trays & Slider Plates: Custom quick-release battery bases printed in high-impact polymers or milled from carbon sheet.
- Canopies, Nose Shells & Covers: Printed in lightweight ASA or PETG for heat, UV, and impact resistance.
- Landing Gear Skids & Struts: Impact-absorbing TPU or Nylon landing sets for vintage models with no spare parts market.
- Gyro Beds, ESC Trays & Electronics Brackets: Custom mounts designed to accommodate modern Flybarless (FBL) gyros and modern ESCs on older frames.
- Tail Boom Braces & Servo Clamps: High-strength printed brackets and clamps tailored to exact boom diameters.
🛸 Multi-Rotor & Drone Components
- Custom Arm Plates & Center Frames: CNC-milled replacement carbon fiber plates for legacy or custom multi-rotors.
- Gimbal & Payload Adapter Mounts: Custom brackets to adapt modern cameras/sensors onto older drone airframes.
- Vibration Isolation Damping Plates: Laser-cut silicone, neoprene, or gel pads to filter out flight controller vibrations.
- Antenna, GPS & Telemetry Mounts: Custom brackets for modern 2.4GHz / 900MHz antenna geometry.
Materials & Manufacturing Capabilities
| Technology | Supported Materials | Best Suited For |
| CNC Routing | 3K Carbon Fiber, G10 Garolite, Birch Plywood | High-stress frame plates, fins, motor plates, structural ribs. |
| Precision Laser Cutting | Lite-Ply, Balsa, Neoprene, Acrylic, Gaskets | Vibration dampeners, paint masks, canopy formers, lightweight ribs. |
| High-Temp / Flow 3D Printing | Carbon-Fiber Nylon (PA-CF), ASA, PETG, TPU | Canopies, landing skids, battery trays, tail clamps, gyro mounts. |
Important Safety Exclusions
⚠️ What We Do Not Custom-Manufacture
To protect the safety of your aircraft and observers, we do not custom-manufacture high-RPM, high-stress metal or rotating dynamic parts such as main/tail rotor blades, metal main shaft assemblies, feathering shafts, or swashplates. These critical rotating items must be purchased off-the-shelf from commercial suppliers.
4-Step Process to Order Custom Parts
- Submit Your Request: Fill out the intake form below with photos, dimensions, or attached vector files.
- Technical Review & Quote: We assess the geometry, select the optimal material/process, and send you a formal quote within 1 business day.
- Fabrication & Fitting: Once approved, we cut or print your part using precise kerf and tolerance compensation.
- Courier Delivery: We ship the finished part directly to your door anywhere in South Africa via tracked courier.
